What is desirable in a person is his fidelity; better to be a poor person than a liar.


Smooth  lips with an evil heart are like glaze on an earthen vessel.


A hateful person disguises himself with his speech and harbours deceit within.


When he speaks graciously, don’t believe him, for there are seven detestable things in his heart.


The two kings, whose hearts are bent on evil, will speak lies  at the same table but to no avail, for still the end will come at the appointed time.


When the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, ‘This man, if he were a prophet, would know who and what kind of woman this is who is touching him #– #she’s a sinner! ’


‘How can you say, “I love you,” ’  she told him, ‘when your heart is not with me? This is the third time you have mocked me and not told me what makes your strength so great! ’
