For his own feet lead him into a net, and he strays into its mesh.


Good sense wins favour, but the way of the treacherous never changes.


The one who guards his mouth protects his life; the one who opens his lips invites his own ruin.


A slacker’s way is like a thorny hedge, but the path of the upright is a raised road.


The road of the upright  avoids evil; the one who guards his way protects his life.


The one who keeps commands preserves himself; one who disregards  his ways will die.


Humility, the fear of the  Lord, results in wealth, honour, and life.


An evil person is caught by sin, but the righteous one sings and rejoices.


But the way of the wicked is like the darkest gloom; they don’t know what makes them stumble.


know for certain that the Lord your God will not continue to drive these nations out before you. They will become a snare and a trap for you,  a sharp stick  for your sides and thorns in your eyes, until you disappear from this good land the Lord your God has given you.


We know that everyone who has been born of God does not sin, but the one who is born of God keeps him,  , and the evil one does not touch him.
