Adonijah son of Haggith  kept exalting himself, saying, ‘I will be king! ’ He prepared chariots, cavalry, and fifty men to run ahead of him.  ,


Pride comes before destruction, and an arrogant spirit before a fall.


To start a conflict is to release a flood; stop the dispute before it breaks out.


Before his downfall a person’s heart is proud, but humility comes before honour.


Complete your outdoor work, and prepare your field; afterwards, build your house.


If a wise person goes to court with a fool, there will be ranting and raving but no resolution.  ,


For I fear that perhaps when I come I will not find you to be what I want, and you may not find me to be what you want. Perhaps there will be quarrelling,  jealousy,  angry outbursts, selfish ambitions,  slander,  gossip, arrogance, and disorder.


for human anger does not accomplish God’s righteousness.
