The Lord will not let the righteous go hungry, but he denies the wicked what they crave.


Poverty and disgrace come to those who ignore discipline, but the one who accepts correction will be honoured.


and your poverty will come like a robber, and your need, like a bandit.

After he had spent everything, a severe famine struck that country, and he had nothing.


you will serve your enemies that the Lord will send against you, in famine, thirst, nakedness, and a lack of everything. He will place an iron yoke  on your neck until he has destroyed you.


They will be weak from hunger, ravaged by pestilence and bitter plague; I will unleash on them wild beasts with fangs, as well as venomous snakes that slither in the dust.


In fact, when we were with you, this is what we commanded you: ‘If anyone isn’t willing to work, he should not eat.’


For the training of the body has limited benefit,  but godliness is beneficial in every way, since it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.


Keep your life free from the love of money. Be satisfied with what you have, for he himself has said, I will never leave you or abandon you.   ,
