Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but one who hates correction is stupid.


The one who has contempt for instruction will pay the penalty, but the one who respects a command will be rewarded.


Desire fulfilled is sweet to the taste, but to turn from evil is detestable to fools.


A righteous person eats until he is satisfied, but the stomach of the wicked is empty.


A fool despises his father’s discipline, but a person who accepts correction is sensible.


Many seek a ruler’s favour, and everyone is a friend of one who gives gifts.


A wise correction to a receptive ear is like a gold ring or an ornament of gold.


Instruct the wise, and he will be wiser still; teach the righteous, and he will learn more.


It is better to listen to rebuke from a wise person than to listen to the song of fools,


Let us lie down in our shame; let our disgrace cover us. We have sinned against the  Lord our God, both we and our ancestors, from the time of our youth even to this day. We have not obeyed the  Lord our God.’


See to it that you do not reject the one who speaks. For if they did not escape when they rejected him who warned them on earth, even less will we if we turn away from him who warns us from heaven.
