The desire of the righteous turns out well, but the hope of the wicked leads to wrath.


A wife of noble character  is her husband’s crown, but a wife who causes shame is like rottenness in his bones.


The words of the wicked are a deadly ambush, but the speech of the upright rescues them.


The sensible person’s wisdom is to consider his way, but the stupidity of fools deceives them.


A foolish scheme is sin, and a mocker is detestable to people.


Let the wicked one abandon his way and the sinful one his thoughts; let him return to the  Lord, so that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will freely forgive.


Wash the evil from your heart,   Jerusalem, so that you will be delivered. How long will you harbour malicious thoughts?


They bent their tongues like their bows; lies and not faithfulness prevail in the land, for they proceed from one evil to another, and they do not take me into account. This is the  Lord’s declaration.


Each one betrays his friend; no one tells the truth. They have taught their tongues to speak lies; they wear themselves out doing wrong.


Then Herod, when he realised that he had been outwitted by the wise men, flew into a rage. He gave orders to massacre all the boys in and around Bethlehem who were two years old and under, in keeping with the time he had learned from the wise men.


and they conspired to arrest Jesus in a treacherous way and kill him.


So don’t judge  anything prematurely, before the Lord comes,  who will both bring to light what is hidden in darkness and reveal the intentions of the hearts. And then praise will come to each one from God.


Instead, we have renounced secret and shameful things, not acting  deceitfully or distorting the word of God,  but commending ourselves before God to everyone’s conscience by an open display of the truth.
