On that same day Isaac’s servants came to tell him about the well they had dug, saying to him, ‘We have found water! ’


The son who gathers during summer is prudent; the son who sleeps during harvest is disgraceful.


One person gives freely, yet gains more; another withholds what is right, only to become poor.


The diligent hand will rule, but laziness will lead to forced labour.


A lazy hunter doesn’t roast his game, but to a diligent person, his wealth is precious.


The slacker craves, yet has nothing, but the diligent is fully satisfied.


The one who is lazy in his work is brother to a vandal.  ,


Laziness induces deep sleep, and a lazy person will go hungry.


The slacker buries his hand in the bowl; he doesn’t even bring it back to his mouth!


Don’t love sleep, or you will become poor; open your eyes, and you’ll have enough to eat.


The slacker does not plough during planting season; at harvest time he looks,  and there is nothing.


The plans of the diligent certainly lead to profit, but anyone who is reckless certainly becomes poor.


Because of laziness the roof caves in, and because of negligent hands the house leaks.


Don’t work for the food that perishes   but for the food that lasts for eternal life,   which the Son of Man   will give you, because God the Father   has set his seal of approval on him.’


Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the Lord’s work,  because you know that your labour in the Lord is not in vain.
