because Macedonia  and Achaia  were pleased to make a contribution for the poor among the saints in Jerusalem.


Now I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that what has happened to me has actually advanced the gospel,


These preach out of love,  knowing that I am appointed for the defence of the gospel;


because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day  until now.


Indeed, it is right  for me to think this way about all of you, because I have you in my heart,  and you are all partners with me in grace, both in my imprisonment  and in the defence  and confirmation of the gospel.


Therefore, my dear friends,  just as you have always obeyed,  so now, not only in my presence but even more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
