Numbers 5:15 - Christian Standard Bible Anglicised

15 then the man is to bring his wife to the priest. He is also to bring an offering for her of two litres  of barley flour. He is not to pour oil over it or put frankincense on it because it is a grain offering of jealousy, a grain offering for remembrance to draw attention to guilt.

It will seem like false divination to those who have sworn an oath to the Babylonians,  , but it will draw attention to their guilt so that they will be captured.


It will never again be an object of trust  for the house of Israel, drawing attention to their iniquity of turning to the Egyptians. Then they will know that I am the Lord God.” ’


So I bought her for fifteen shekels of silver and 330 litres of barley.  ,,


‘Speak to the Israelites and tell them: When any of you brings an offering to the Lord from the livestock, you may bring your offering from the herd or the flock.


‘When anyone presents a grain offering  as an offering to the Lord, it is to consist of fine flour.  He is to pour olive oil  on it, put frankincense on it,


‘But if he cannot afford two turtledoves or two young pigeons,  he may bring two litres  of fine flour  , as an offering for his sin. He must not put olive oil or frankincense on it, for it is a sin offering.


‘The priest is to bring her forward and make her stand before the Lord.


But in the sacrifices there is a reminder of sins year after year.
