The Lord then said to Moses, ‘Write this down on a scroll as a reminder and recite it to Joshua: I will completely blot out the memory of Amalek under heaven.’


They set out for the first time according to the Lord’s command through Moses.


When you sound short blasts a second time, the camps pitched on the south  are to set out. Short blasts are to be sounded for them to set out.


These were the stages of the Israelites’ journey when they went out of the land of Egypt by their military divisions under the leadership of Moses and Aaron.


They travelled from Rameses  in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the month. On the day after the Passover  the Israelites went out defiantly  , in the sight of all the Egyptians.


It is an eleven-day journey from Horeb  to Kadesh-barnea  by way of Mount Seir.


Then the Lord said to me, “Get up. Continue your journey ahead of the people, so that they may enter and possess the land I swore to give their ancestors.”
