Jair, a descendant of Manasseh, took over the entire region of Argob as far as the border of the Geshurites and Maacathites. He called Bashan by his own name, Jair’s Villages,  as it is today.


this as their territory: From Mahanaim including all of Bashan #– #all the kingdom of King Og of Bashan, including all of Jair’s Villages  , that are in Bashan #– #sixty cities.


He had thirty sons who rode on thirty donkeys. They had thirty towns  in Gilead, which are still called Jair’s Villages  today.
