You will pray to him, and he will hear you, and you will fulfil your vows.


Do not misuse the name of the Lord your God, because the Lord will not leave anyone unpunished who misuses his name.


It is a trap for anyone to dedicate something rashly and later to reconsider his vows.


Or if someone swears rashly  to do what is good or evil #– #concerning anything a person may speak rashly in an oath #– #without being aware of it, but later recognises it, he incurs guilt in such an instance.


Look to the mountains – the feet of the herald, who proclaims peace. Celebrate your festivals, Judah; fulfil your vows. For the wicked one will never again march through you; he will be entirely wiped out.


Then Israel made a vow to the Lord, ‘If you will hand this people over to us, we will completely destroy their cities.’
