1 ‘You are to hold a sacred assembly in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, and you are not to do any daily work.  This will be a day of trumpet blasts for you.

So all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the Lord with shouts, the sound of the ram’s horn, trumpets, and cymbals, and the playing of harps and lyres.


On the first day of the seventh month they began to offer burnt offerings to the Lord,  even though the foundation of the Lord’s temple had not yet been laid.


The priests, Levites, gatekeepers, temple singers, some of the people, temple servants, and all Israel settled in their towns. When the seventh month  came and the Israelites had settled in their towns,


On the first day of the seventh month,  the priest Ezra  brought the law  before the assembly of men, women, and all who could listen with understanding.


Also observe the Festival of Harvest  with the firstfruits of your produce from what you sow in the field, and observe the Festival of Ingathering  , at the end of the year, when you gather your produce  from the field.


‘Observe the Festival of Weeks with the firstfruits of the wheat harvest, and the Festival of Ingathering  at the turn of the agricultural year.


On that day a great ram’s horn  will be blown, and those lost in the land of Assyria will come, as well as those dispersed in the land of Egypt; and they will worship the  Lord at Jerusalem on the holy mountain.


On the first day you are to hold a sacred assembly; you are not to do any daily work.


Then the Lord will appear over them, and his arrow will fly like lightning. The Lord God will sound the ram’s horn and advance with the southern storms.


‘On the day of firstfruits, you are to hold a sacred assembly when you present an offering of new grain to the Lord at your Festival of Weeks;  you are not to do any daily work.


‘You are to hold a sacred assembly on the fifteenth day of the seventh month;  you do not do any daily work. You are to celebrate a seven-day festival for the Lord.


Offer a burnt offering as a pleasing aroma to the Lord: one young bull, one ram, seven male lambs a year old #– #all unblemished #– #


‘On the eighth day you are to hold a solemn assembly; you are not to do any daily work.
