However, the archers shot down on your servants from the top of the wall, and some of the king’s servants died. Your servant Uriah the Hethite is also dead.’


They hired thirty-two thousand chariots and the king of Maacah with his army, who came and camped near Medeba.  The Ammonites also came together from their cities for the battle.


Dibon went up to its temple to weep at its high places. Moab wails on Nebo and at   Medeba. Every head is shaved; every beard is chopped short.


The Waters of Dibon  are full of blood, but I will bring on Dibon even more than this – a lion for those who escape from Moab, and for the survivors in the land.


Come down from glory; sit on parched ground, resident of the daughter of Dibon, for the destroyer of Moab has come against you; he has destroyed your fortresses.


So Israel lived in the Amorites’ land.
