Everyone who is registered must pay half a shekel  according to the sanctuary shekel (twenty gerahs to the shekel). This half shekel is a contribution to the Lord.


All the gold of the presentation offering that was used for the project in all the work on the sanctuary, was 995 kilograms,  according to the sanctuary shekel.


The shekel  will weigh twenty gerahs.  Your mina will equal sixty shekels.


All your assessed values will be measured by the standard sanctuary shekel,  twenty gerahs to the shekel.


The firstborn of every living thing, human or animal, presented to the Lord belongs to you. But you must certainly redeem a human firstborn,  and redeem the firstborn of an unclean animal.


‘However, you must not redeem the firstborn of an ox, a sheep, or a goat; they are holy. You are to splatter their blood on the altar and burn their fat as a food offering for a pleasing aroma to the Lord.


As the redemption price for the 273 firstborn Israelites who outnumber the Levites,
