Then he said, ‘Let my lord not be angry, and I will speak one more time.  Suppose ten are found there? ’ He answered, ‘I will not destroy it on account of ten.’


The Lord’s anger burned against Israel again, and he stirred up David against them to say, ‘Go, count the people of Israel and Judah.’


When David saw the angel striking the people, he said to the Lord, ‘Look, I am the one who has sinned; I am the one  who has done wrong. But these sheep, what have they done? Please, let your hand be against me and my father’s family.’


The life of every living thing is in his hand, as well as the breath of all humanity.


and the dust returns to the earth as it once was, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.


For I will not accuse you for ever, and I will not always be angry; for then the spirit would grow weak before me, even the breath, which I have made.


‘Look, I am the Lord, the God over every creature.  Is anything too difficult for me?


King Zedekiah swore to Jeremiah in private,  ‘As the Lord lives, who has given us this life,  I will not kill you or hand you over to these men who intend to take your life.’


Look, every life belongs to me.  The life of the father is like the life of the son #– #both belong to me. The person who sins is the one who will die.


Then Moses said to Aaron and his sons Eleazar and Ithamar,  ‘Do not let your hair hang loose  and do not tear your clothes,  or else you will die, and the Lord will become angry  with the whole community. However, your brothers, the whole house of Israel, may weep  over the fire that the Lord caused.


‘If the anointed priest  sins, bringing guilt  on the people, he is to present to the Lord a young, unblemished  bull as a sin  offering  for the sin he has committed.


A pronouncement: The word of the Lord concerning Israel. A declaration of the  Lord, who stretched out the heavens, laid the foundation of the earth, and formed the spirit of man within him.


Then Moses and Aaron fell face down in front of the whole assembly of the Israelite community.


When Moses heard this, he fell face down.


‘Get away from this community so that I may consume them instantly.’  But they fell face down.


‘May the Lord, the God who gives breath to all,  , appoint a man over the community


So then, as through one trespass there is condemnation for everyone, so also through one righteous act there is justification leading to life  for everyone.


It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures  all things.


Furthermore, we had human fathers discipline us, and we respected them. Shouldn’t we submit even more to the Father of spirits and live?


and now would you turn away from the Lord? If you rebel against the Lord today, tomorrow he will be angry with the entire community of Israel.
