These are the heads of their fathers’ families: The sons of Reuben,  the firstborn of Israel: Hanoch and Pallu, Hezron and Carmi. These are the clans of Reuben.


The Lord spoke to Moses in the tent of meeting  in the Wilderness of Sinai,  on the first day of the second month of the second year  after Israel’s departure from the land of Egypt:


So Moses and Aaron took these men who had been designated by name,


Without father, mother, or genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but resembling the Son of God,  he remains a priest for ever.


But one without this  lineage collected a tenth from Abraham and blessed the one who had the promises.
