‘But if the wicked person turns from all the sins he has committed,  keeps all my statutes, and does what is just and right, he will certainly live; he will not die.


Do not take revenge  or bear a grudge against members of your community, but love your neighbour as yourself;  I am the Lord.


Mankind, he has told each of you what is good and what it is the  Lord requires of you: to act justly, to love faithfulness, and to walk humbly with your God.


‘I will come to you in judgement, and I will be ready to witness against sorcerers and adulterers; against those who swear falsely; against those who oppress the hired worker, the widow, and the fatherless; and against those who deny justice to the resident foreigner.  They do not fear me,’  says the Lord of Armies.


‘Don’t think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to abolish but to fulfil.


Just as you want others to do for you, do the same for them.


Now the goal of our instruction is love  that comes from a pure heart,  a good conscience,  and a sincere faith.


Indeed, if you fulfil the royal law prescribed in the Scripture, Love your neighbour as yourself,  , you are doing well.
