Gehazi,  the attendant of Elisha the man of God, thought, ‘My master has let this Aramean Naaman off lightly by not accepting from him what he brought. As the Lord lives,  I will run after him and get something from him.’


Aware of this, Jesus said to them, ‘Why are you bothering this woman? She has done a noble thing for me.


When the disciples  saw it, they were indignant. ‘Why this waste? ’ they asked.


For this perfume might have been sold for more than three hundred denarii  , and given to the poor.’  And they began to scold her.


They have gone astray by abandoning the straight path  and have followed the path of Balaam,  the son of Bosor,  who loved the wages of wickedness


The troops took sheep, goats, and cattle from the plunder #– #the best of what was set apart for destruction #– #to sacrifice to the Lord your God at Gilgal.’


Saul and the troops spared Agag, and the best of the sheep, goats, cattle, and choice animals,  as well as the young rams and the best of everything else. They were not willing to destroy them, but they did destroy all the worthless and unwanted things.
