‘Who made you a commander and judge over us? ’ the man replied. ‘Are you planning to kill me as you killed the Egyptian? ’ Then Moses became afraid and thought, ‘What I did is certainly known.’


He said to them, “You also go into my vineyard, and I’ll give you whatever is right.” So off they went.


Jesus answered them, ‘I will also ask you one question, and if you answer it for me, then I will tell you by what authority I do these things.


As Jesus left and was going out of the temple,  his disciples  came up and called his attention to its buildings.


At that time Jesus said to the crowds, ‘Have you come out with swords and clubs, as if I were a criminal,   to capture me? Every day I used to sit, teaching in the temple, and you didn’t arrest me.


Every day he was teaching  in the temple. The chief priests, the scribes, and the leaders of the people were looking for a way to kill  him,


One  day as he was teaching  the people in the temple and proclaiming the good news,  the chief priests and the scribes, with the elders,  came


After they had Peter and John stand before them, they began to question them: ‘By what power or in what name have you done this? ’


‘But the one who was mistreating his neighbour pushed Moses aside, saying: Who appointed you a ruler and a judge over us?
