And you will say to Pharaoh: This is what the Lord says: Israel is my firstborn son.


When Israel was a child, I loved him, and out of Egypt I called my son.


God brought him out of Egypt; he is like  the horns of a wild ox for them. He will feed on enemy nations and gnaw their bones; he will strike them with his arrows.


Now all this took place to fulfil what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet:


So he got up, took the child and his mother during the night, and escaped to Egypt.


Then what was spoken through Jeremiah the prophet was fulfilled:


After Herod died, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt,


Then he went and settled in a town called Nazareth to fulfil what was spoken through the prophets, that he would be called a Nazarene.


This took place so that what was spoken through the prophet might be fulfilled:


How, then, would the Scriptures be fulfilled   that say it must happen this way? ’


But all this has happened so that the writings of the prophets   would be fulfilled.’ Then all the disciples  deserted him and ran away.


After crucifying him, they divided his clothes by casting lots.  ,


so that what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled: He himself took our weaknesses and carried our diseases.   ,

After  this, when Jesus knew that everything was now finished  that the Scripture might be fulfilled, he said, ‘I’m thirsty.’


For these things happened so that the Scripture would be fulfilled:  Not one of his bones will be broken.   ,


‘Brothers and sisters, it was necessary that the Scripture be fulfilled that the Holy Spirit, through the mouth of David, foretold about Judas, who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus.
