Hadad fled to Egypt, along with some Edomites from his father’s servants. At the time Hadad was a small boy.


At Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon  in a dream at night.  God said, ‘Ask.  What should I give you? ’


In a dream, a vision  in the night, when deep sleep comes over people as they slumber on their beds,


in order to turn a person from his actions and suppress the pride of a person.


Pharaoh then commanded all his people, ‘You must throw every son born to the Hebrews into the Nile, but let every daughter live.’


But after he had considered these things, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, ‘Joseph, son of David, don’t be afraid to take Mary as your wife, because what has been conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.


When they persecute you in one town, flee to another.   For truly I tell you, you will not have gone through the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes.


And being warned  in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their own country by another route.


So he got up, took the child and his mother during the night, and escaped to Egypt.


Then Herod, when he realised that he had been outwitted by the wise men, flew into a rage. He gave orders to massacre all the boys in and around Bethlehem who were two years old and under, in keeping with the time he had learned from the wise men.


But when he heard that Archelaus was ruling over Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there. And being warned in a dream, he withdrew to the region of Galilee.


They said, ‘Cornelius, a centurion, an upright and God-fearing man, who has a good reputation with the whole Jewish nation, was divinely instructed by a holy angel to call you to his house and to hear a message from you.’


When the angel who spoke to him had gone, he called two of his household servants and a devout soldier, who was one of those who attended him.


When Peter came to himself, he said, ‘Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent his angel and rescued me from Herod’s grasp and from all that the Jewish people expected.’


Suddenly an angel of the Lord  appeared, and a light shone in the cell. Striking Peter on the side, he woke him up and said, ‘Quick, get up! ’ And the chains fell off his wrists.


The jailer reported these words to Paul: ‘The magistrates have sent orders for you to be released. So come out now and go in peace.’


But an angel of the Lord opened the doors of the jail during the night, brought them out, and said,


He dealt deceitfully with our race and oppressed our ancestors by making them abandon their infants outside so that they wouldn’t survive.


When the feet  of the priests who carry the ark of the Lord, the Lord of the whole earth, come to rest in the Jordan’s water, its water will be cut off. The water flowing downstream will stand up in a heap.’


The priests carrying the ark of the Lord’s covenant stood firmly on dry ground in the middle of the Jordan,  while all Israel crossed on dry ground until the entire nation had finished crossing the Jordan.


The priests carrying the ark continued standing in the middle of the Jordan until everything was completed that the Lord had commanded Joshua to tell the people, in keeping with all that Moses had commanded Joshua. The people hurried across,


When the priests carrying the ark of the Lord’s covenant came up from the middle of the Jordan, and their feet  stepped out onto solid ground, the water of the Jordan resumed its course, flowing over all the banks as before.


The woman was given two wings of a great eagle,  so that she could fly from the serpent’s presence to her place in the wilderness, where she was nourished for a time, times, and half a time.


Its tail swept away a third of the stars in heaven and hurled them to the earth.  And the dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she did give birth it might devour her child.


The woman fled into the wilderness, where she had a place prepared by God,  to be nourished there  for 1,260 days.
