When his son Isaac was eight days old, Abraham circumcised him, as God had commanded him.


At that time Jesus said,  ‘I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and revealed them to infants.


‘Truly I tell you,’ he said, ‘unless you turn and become like little children,   you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.


After placing his hands on them, he went on from there.


Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for the kingdom of heaven   is theirs.


‘Blessed are the poor in spirit, for the kingdom of heaven   is theirs.


When Jesus saw it, he was indignant  and said to them, ‘Let the little children come to me.   Don’t stop   them, because the kingdom of God   belongs to such as these.


Truly I tell you,   whoever does not receive   , the kingdom of God like a little child   will never enter it.’


Brothers and sisters, don’t be childish in your thinking, but be infants in regard to evil and adult in your thinking.


He said to me, “You will conceive and give birth to a son. Therefore, do not drink wine or beer, and do not eat anything unclean, because the boy will be a Nazirite to God from birth until the day of his death.” ’


Making a vow,  she pleaded, ‘Lord of Armies, if you will take notice of your servant’s affliction,  remember and not forget me, and give your servant a son, I will give him to the Lord all the days of his life, and his hair will never be cut.’  ,


Hannah did not go and explained to her husband, ‘After the child is weaned, I’ll take him to appear in the Lord’s presence  and to stay there permanently.’


When she had weaned him, she took him with her to Shiloh, as well as a three-year-old bull,  twenty-two litres  of flour, and a clay jar of wine.  Though the boy was still young,  she took him to the Lord’s house at Shiloh.


Samuel served in the Lord’s presence   #– #this mere boy was dressed in the linen ephod.
