The one who shuts his ears to the cry of the poor will himself also call out and not be answered.


All a person’s ways seem right to him, but the Lord weighs hearts.


Yet in spite of all this, her treacherous sister Judah didn’t return to me with all her heart   #– #only in pretence.’ This is the Lord’s declaration.


They made their hearts like a rock so as not to obey the law or the words that the Lord of Armies had sent by his Spirit through the earlier prophets.  Therefore intense anger came from the Lord of Armies.


And because he was angry, his master handed him over to the jailers to be tortured until he could pay everything that was owed.


And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.


And whenever you stand   praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive   him, so that your Father   in heaven   will also forgive   you your wrongdoing.’


And he told them, ‘You are the ones who justify   yourselves in the sight of others, but God knows your hearts.   For what is highly admired by people is revolting   in God’s sight.


For judgement is without mercy to the one who has not shown mercy.  Mercy triumphs over judgement.


But if you have bitter envy and selfish ambition in your heart, don’t boast and deny the truth.


Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.


I will strike her children dead.   , Then all the churches will know that I am the one who examines minds and hearts,   and I will give to each of you according to your works.
