Their anger is cursed, for it is strong, and their fury, for it is cruel! I will disperse them throughout Jacob and scatter them throughout Israel.


Fury is cruel, and anger a flood, but who can withstand jealousy?


Bloodthirsty men hate an honest person, but the upright care about him.


But you have eyes and a heart for nothing except your own dishonest profit, shedding innocent blood and committing extortion and oppression.


therefore, as I live #– #this is the declaration of the Lord God  #– #I will destine you for bloodshed, and it will pursue you. Since you did not hate bloodshed, it will pursue you.


So he sent orders and had John beheaded in the prison.


Then his disciples came, removed the corpse,  buried it, and went and reported to Jesus.


Prompted by her mother, she answered, ‘Give me John the Baptist’s head here on a dish.’


Because they poured out the blood of the saints and the prophets, you have given them blood to drink; they deserve it!


Then I saw that the woman was drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the witnesses to Jesus.  When I saw her, I was greatly astonished.
