The priest will make an examination, and if the spot seems to be beneath the skin and the hair in it has turned white, the priest must pronounce him unclean; it is a case of serious skin disease that has broken out in the boil.


When the Pharisees heard this, they said, ‘This man drives out demons only by Beelzebul, the ruler of the demons.’


Then it says, “I’ll go back to my house which I came from.” Returning, it finds the house vacant, swept, and put in order.


‘Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! You travel over land and sea to make one convert,   and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much a child of hell as you are!


Blind guides!   You strain out a gnat, but gulp down a camel!


Early  on the first day of the week,  after he had risen,  he appeared first to Mary Magdalene,  out of whom he had driven seven demons.


‘What is your name? ’ he asked him. ‘My name is Legion,’  he answered him, ‘because we are many.’


Then it goes and brings seven other spirits   more evil than itself, and they enter and settle down there. As a result, that person’s last condition is worse than the first.’


For our struggle is not against flesh  and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities,  against the cosmic powers of this darkness, against evil,  spiritual forces in the heavens.


But we are not those who draw back and are destroyed, but those who have faith and are saved.
