Matthew 12:39
8 Tagairtí Cros

He restored Israel’s border  from Lebo-hamath  as far as the Sea of the Arabah,  according to the word the Lord, the God of Israel, had spoken through his servant, the prophet Jonah  son of Amittai from Gath-hepher.

But come here, you witch’s sons, offspring of an adulterer and a prostitute!

The word of the Lord came to Jonah son of Amittai:

An evil and adulterous generation demands a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of   Jonah.’   Then he left them and went away.

Sighing deeply in his spirit,  he said, ‘Why does this generation   demand a sign? Truly I tell you,   no sign will be given to this generation.’

For whoever is ashamed   of me and my words   in this adulterous and sinful   generation,   the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when he comes in the glory   of his Father   with the holy   angels.’

You adulterous people!  Don’t you know that friendship with the world is hostility towards God? So whoever wants to be the friend of the world becomes the enemy of God.
