Truly I tell you, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom.’


Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the peoples of the earth   will mourn;   and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.


‘When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels   , with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne.


Then they will see the Son of Man   coming   in clouds   with great power   and glory.


‘Truly I tell you,   this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things take place.


It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit  that he would not see death before he saw the Lord’s Messiah.


For I tell you, from now on I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.’


so that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom.   And you will sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.


Truly I tell you, there are some standing here who will not taste death   until they see the kingdom of God.’


So this rumour  spread to the brothers and sisters  that this disciple would not die.  Yet Jesus did not tell him that he would not die, but, ‘If I want him to remain until I come, what is that to you? ’


But we do see Jesus #– #made lower than the angels for a short time so that by God’s grace he might taste death  for everyone #– #crowned with glory and honour   because he suffered death.
