Haven’t the members of my household said, ‘Who is there who has not had enough to eat at Job’s table? ’


Prompted by her mother, she answered, ‘Give me John the Baptist’s head here on a dish.’


In those days John the Baptist came,  preaching in the wilderness of Judea


He promised her with an  oath:  ‘Whatever you ask me I will give you, up to half my kingdom.’


At once she hurried to the king and said, ‘I want you to give me John the Baptist’s  head on a dish  immediately.’
