I also shook the folds of my robe and said, ‘May God likewise shake from his house and property everyone who doesn’t keep this promise. May he be shaken out  and have nothing! ’ The whole assembly said, ‘Amen,’ and they praised the Lord. Then the people did as they had promised.


I tell you that on the day of judgement   people will have to account   for every careless   word they speak.


He said to them, ‘Whenever you enter a house, stay there until you leave that place.


If they do not welcome you, when you leave that town, shake off the dust from your feet as a testimony against them.’


When they resisted and blasphemed,  he shook out his clothes  and told them, ‘Your blood is on your own heads!  I am innocent.  From now on I will go to the Gentiles.’


on the day when God judges  what people have kept secret, according to my gospel through Christ Jesus.


Because of your hardened and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath  for yourself in the day of wrath,  when God’s righteous judgement is revealed.


and if he reduced the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah  to ashes and condemned them to extinction,  making them an example of what is coming to the ungodly;


then the Lord knows how to rescue  the godly from trials and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgement,


By the same word,  the present heavens and earth are stored up for fire, being kept for the day of judgement  and destruction of the ungodly.


In this, love is made complete with us so that we may have confidence in the day of judgement,  because as he is, so also are we in this world.


Likewise, Sodom and Gomorrah  and the surrounding towns committed sexual immorality and perversions,  and serve as an example by undergoing the punishment of eternal fire.
