I will put hostility between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He will strike your head, and you will strike his heel.


After those sixty-two weeks the Anointed One will be cut off and will have nothing. The people of the coming ruler will destroy the city  and the sanctuary. The  end will come with a flood, and until the end there will be   war; desolations are decreed.


Sword, awake against my shepherd, against the man who is my associate – this is the declaration of the  Lord of Armies. Strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered; I will turn my hand against the little ones.


‘But I tell you: Elijah has already come, and they didn’t recognise him. On the contrary, they did whatever they pleased to him. In the same way the Son of Man is going to suffer at their hands.’


As  they were gathering together  in Galilee, Jesus told them, ‘The Son of Man is about to be betrayed into the hands of men.


and said, ‘Sir, we remember that while this deceiver was still alive he said, “After three days I will rise again.”


Then  he began to teach them that it was necessary for the Son of Man  to suffer many things and be rejected  by the elders,  chief priests, and scribes,  be killed, and rise  after three days.


For he was teaching  his disciples and telling them, ‘The Son of Man   is going to be betrayed   into the hands of men. They will kill him, and after he is killed, he will rise   three days later.’


But first it is necessary that he suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.


Wasn’t it necessary for the Messiah to suffer   these things and enter into his glory? ’


He told them, ‘These are my words   that I spoke to you while I was still with you #– #that everything written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets,   and the Psalms   must be fulfilled.’


saying, “It is necessary that the Son of Man be betrayed   into the hands of sinful men, be crucified, and rise   on the third day”? ’


‘Let these words sink in:   The Son of Man is about to be betrayed into the hands of men.’


that he was buried,  that he was raised on the third day  according to the Scriptures,


They enquired into what time or what circumstances the Spirit of Christ  within them was indicating when he testified in advance  to the sufferings of Christ  and the glories  that would follow.
