After dismissing the crowds, he went up on the mountain by himself to pray. He stayed there alone well into the night.


Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane,  and he told the disciples, ‘Sit here while I go over there and pray.’


He was praying  in a certain place, and when he finished, one of his disciples said to him, ‘Lord, teach us to pray, just as John also taught his disciples.’


When all the people were baptised,  Jesus also was baptised. As he was praying,  heaven opened,


During those days he went out to the mountain to pray  and spent all night in prayer to God.


They answered, ‘John the Baptist; others, Elijah; still others, that one of the ancient prophets has come back.’  ,


About eight days after this conversation,  he took along Peter, John, and James  and went up on the mountain to pray.


As he was praying, the appearance of his face changed,  and his clothes became dazzling white.
