Anyone who listens to me is happy, watching at my doors every day, waiting by the posts of my doorway.


So he got into a boat, crossed over, and came to his own town.


David himself calls him “Lord.” How, then, can he be his son? ’ And the large crowd was listening to him with delight.


When  Jesus had crossed over again by boat  to the other side, a large crowd  gathered around him while he was by the sea.


because Herod feared  John and protected him, knowing he was a righteous  and holy  man. When Herod heard him he would be very perplexed,  , and yet he liked to listen to him.


but they could not find a way to do it, because all the people  were captivated by what they heard.


So he quickly came down and welcomed him joyfully.


As the crowd was pressing in on Jesus to hear God’s word,  he was standing by Lake Gennesaret.  ,


‘Go back to your home, and tell all that God has done for you.’ And off he went, proclaiming throughout the town how much Jesus had done for him.


John   , was a burning and shining lamp,   and you were willing to rejoice for a while in his light.


So I immediately sent for you, and it was good of you to come. So now we are all in the presence of God to hear everything you have been commanded by the Lord.’
