Or do you think that I cannot call on my Father, and he will provide me here and now with more than twelve legions of angels?


Then the news about him spread throughout Syria.  So they brought to him all those who were afflicted, those suffering from various diseases and intense pains, the demon-possessed, the epileptics, and the paralytics.  And he healed them.


Suddenly they shouted, ‘What do you have to do with us,  Son of God? Have you come here to torment us before the time? ’


Early  on the first day of the week,  after he had risen,  he appeared first to Mary Magdalene,  out of whom he had driven seven demons.


‘What is your name? ’ he asked him. ‘My name is Legion,’  he answered him, ‘because we are many.’


and also some women who had been healed of evil spirits and sicknesses:  Mary, called Magdalene (seven demons had come out  of her);


For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. Many times it had seized him, and though he was guarded, bound by chains and shackles, he would snap the restraints and be driven by the demon into deserted places.
