‘A son honours his father, and a servant his master. But if I am a father, where is my honour? And if I am a master, where is your fear of me?  says the Lord of Armies to you priests, who despise my name.’ Yet you ask, ‘How have we despised your name? ’


Later the rest of the virgins also came and said, “Master, master, open up for us! ”


‘The man who had received one talent also approached and said, “Master, I know you. You’re a harsh man, reaping where you haven’t sown and gathering where you haven’t scattered seed.


‘Then they too will answer, “Lord, when did we see you hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or without clothes, or ill, or in prison, and not help you? ”


Don’t be deceived: God is not mocked. For whatever a person sows he will also reap,


But  be doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
