At the place where they lodged for the night, one of them opened his sack to get feed for his donkey, and he saw his silver there at the top of his bag.


When we came to the place where we lodged for the night and opened our bags of grain, each one’s silver was at the top of his bag!  It was the full amount of our silver, and we have brought it back with us.


On the trip, at an overnight campsite, it happened that the Lord confronted him and intended to put him to death.


Therefore, the Lord himself will give you  a sign: See, the virgin will conceive,  have a son, and name him Immanuel.  ,


but did not have sexual relations with her until she gave birth to a son.  And he named him Jesus.


Isn’t this the carpenter’s son?  Isn’t his mother called Mary, and his brothers James,  Joseph,  Simon, and Judas?


Jesus told him, ‘Foxes have dens, and birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man   has no place to lay his head.’


He went over to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on olive oil   and wine. Then he put him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him.


While they were there, the time came for her to give birth.

The Word  became flesh  and dwelt  among us. We observed his glory,  the glory as the one and only  Son  from the Father, full of grace and truth.


For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ: Though he was rich,  for your sake he became poor,  so that by his poverty you might become rich.


When the time came to completion, God sent his Son,  born of a woman,  born under the law,
