He is not to marry a widow,  a divorced woman,  or one defiled by prostitution. He is to marry a virgin from his own people,

Judah has acted treacherously, and a detestable  act has been done in Israel and in Jerusalem. For Judah has profaned  the Lord’s sanctuary,  , which he loves,  and has married the daughter of a foreign god.  ,


Didn’t God make them one and give them a portion of spirit? What is the one seeking?  Godly offspring. So watch yourselves carefully,  , so that no one acts treacherously against the wife of his  youth.

Now if the firstfruits are holy,  so is the whole batch. And if the root is holy, so are the branches.


For the unbelieving husband is made holy  by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is made holy by the husband.  Otherwise your children would be unclean, but as it is they are holy.
