Leviticus 20:17 - Christian Standard Bible Anglicised

17 If a man marries his sister,  whether his father’s daughter or his mother’s daughter, and they have sexual relations,  , it is a disgrace.  They are to be cut off publicly from their people. He has had sexual intercourse with his sister; he will bear his iniquity.

‘Don’t, my brother! ’ she cried. ‘Don’t disgrace  me, for such a thing should never be done in Israel.  Don’t commit this outrage!


Anyone who blends something like it or puts some of it on an unauthorised person must be cut off  from his people.’


One man within you commits a detestable act with his neighbour’s wife;  another defiles his daughter-in-law with depravity; and yet another violates his sister, his father’s daughter.


You are not to have sexual intercourse with your sister, either your father’s daughter or your mother’s,  whether born at home or born elsewhere. You are not to have sex with her.


If a woman approaches any animal and mates with it, you are to kill the woman and the animal.  They must be put to death; their death is their own fault.


The husband will be free of guilt, but that woman will bear her iniquity.’


“The one who sleeps with his sister, whether his father’s daughter or his mother’s daughter is cursed.” And all the people will say, “Amen! ”
