and he said, ‘Listen carefully, all Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and King Jehoshaphat. This is what the Lord says: “Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast number,  for the battle is not yours, but God’s.


You do not have to fight this battle. Position yourselves, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord.  He is with you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid or discouraged.  Tomorrow, go out to face them, for the Lord is with you.” ’


He caused their chariot wheels to swerve  , and made them drive  with difficulty. ‘Let’s get away from Israel,’ the Egyptians said, ‘because the Lord is fighting for them against Egypt! ’


The wicked flee when no one is pursuing them, but the righteous are as bold as a lion.


For the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, has said: ‘You will be delivered by returning and resting; your strength will lie in quiet confidence. But you are not willing.’


Egypt’s help is completely worthless; therefore, I call her: Rahab Who Just Sits.


quenched the raging of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, gained strength in weakness, became mighty in battle, and put foreign armies to flight.


The three companies blew their rams’ horns and shattered their jugs. They held their torches in their left hands and their rams’ horns to blow in their right hands, and they shouted, ‘A sword for the Lord and for Gideon! ’
