¹¹ From there they marched against the residents of Debir (Debir was formerly named Kiriath-sepher).

¹¹ And from thence he went against the inhabitants of Debir: and the name of Debir before was Kirjath-sepher:

¹¹ From there [Judah] went against the inhabitants of Debir. The name of Debir before was Kiriath-sepher [city of books and scribes].

¹¹ And from thence he went against the inhabitants of Debir. (Now the name of Debir beforetime was Kiriath-sepher.)

¹¹ From there they moved against those who lived in Debir, known before as Kiriath-sepher.

¹¹ And continuing on from there, he went to the inhabitants of Debir, the old name of which was Kiriath-Sepher, that is, the City of Letters.

¹¹ And departing from thence he went to the inhabitants of Dabir, the ancient name of which was Cariath-Sepher, that is, the city of letters.

From there he marched against the inhabitants of Debir, which used to be called Kiriath-sepher,

Caleb said, ‘Whoever attacks and captures Kiriath-sepher, I will give my daughter Achsah to him as a wife.’
