The likeness of oxen  was below it, completely encircling it, ten every 45 centimetres,  completely surrounding the basin. The oxen were cast in two rows when the basin was cast.


Only don’t rebel against the Lord, and don’t be afraid of the people of the land, for we will devour them.  Their protection  has been removed from them, and the Lord is with us. Don’t be afraid of them! ’


Now we have this treasure in clay jars, so that this extraordinary power  may be from God and not from us.


So the ark of the Lord was carried round the city, circling it once. They returned to the camp and spent the night there.


On the second day they marched round the city once and returned to the camp. They did this for six days.


The Lord said to Joshua, ‘Look, I have handed Jericho, its king, and its best soldiers over to you.


Have seven priests to carry seven trumpets made of ram’s horns in front of the ark. But on the seventh day, march round the city seven times, while the priests blow the rams’ horns.


He said to the troops, ‘Move forward, march round the city, and have the armed men go ahead of the ark of the Lord.’
