Then she let them down by a rope through the window, since she lived in a house that was built into the wall of the city.


So the two men went into the hill country and stayed there for three days until the pursuers had returned. They searched all along the way, but did not find them.


David then stayed in the wilderness strongholds and in the hill country of the Wilderness of Ziph.  Saul searched for him every day, but God did not hand David over to him.


From there David went up and stayed in the strongholds of En-gedi.
