and named the place Bethel,  though previously the city was named Luz.


Benjamin’s descendants: from Geba,  , Michmash,  Aija, and Bethel  and its surrounding villages,


As they fled before Israel, the Lord threw large hailstones on them  from the sky along the descent of Beth-horon all the way to Azekah, and they died. More of them died from the hail than the Israelites killed with the sword.


This was the territory of the descendants of Ephraim by their clans: The border of their inheritance went from Ataroth-addar  on the east to Upper Beth-horon.


On the west side, from the hill facing Beth-horon on the south, the border curved, turning southwards, and ended at Kiriath-baal (that is, Kiriath-jearim), a city of the descendants of Judah. This was the west side of their border.


Kibzaim with its pasturelands, and Beth-horon with its pasturelands #– #four cities.


The next division headed towards the Beth-horon  road, and the last division headed down the border road that looks out over the Zeboim Valley  towards the wilderness.
