Yet his bow remained steady, and his strong arms were made agile by the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, by the name of   the Shepherd,  the Rock of Israel,


Then David’s forces marched into the field to engage Israel in battle, which took place in the forest of Ephraim.


What, then, are we to say about these things?  If God is for us, who is against us?


No, in all these things we are more than conquerors  through him who loved us.


His firstborn bull has   splendour, and horns like   those of a wild ox; he gores all the peoples with them to the ends of the earth. Such are the ten thousands of Ephraim, and such are the thousands of Manasseh.

So they designated Kedesh in the hill country of Naphtali in Galilee,  Shechem in the hill country of Ephraim, and Kiriath-arba (that is, Hebron) in the hill country of Judah.


There was a man from Ramathaim-zophim  in  the hill country of Ephraim.  His name was Elkanah  son of Jeroham, son of Elihu, son of Tohu, son of Zuph, an Ephraimite.
