The fear of mankind is a snare, but the one who trusts in the  Lord is protected.  ,


I #– #I am the one who comforts you. Who are you that you should fear humans who die, or a son of man who is given up like grass?


Listen to me, you who know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my instruction: do not fear disgrace by men, and do not be shattered by their taunts.


Who was it you dreaded and feared, so that you lied and didn’t remember me or take it to heart? I have kept silent for a long time, haven’t I?  , So you do not fear me.


Blessed are you when people hate you, when they exclude you,   insult you, and slander your name as evil because of the Son of Man.


This was John’s testimony when the Jews from Jerusalem  sent priests  and Levites  to ask him, ‘Who are you? ’


They will ban you from the synagogues.   In fact, a time is coming when anyone who kills you will think he is offering service   to God.


After  this, Joseph of Arimathea, who was a disciple of Jesus #– #but secretly because of his fear of the Jews #– #asked Pilate that he might remove Jesus’s body.  Pilate gave him permission; so he came and took his body away.


When it was evening on that first day of the week,  the disciples were gathered together with the doors locked because they feared the Jews. Jesus came, stood among them, and said to them, ‘Peace be with you.’


Still, nobody was talking publicly about him for fear of the Jews.


The Jews did not believe this about him #– #that he was blind and received sight #– #until they summoned the parents of the one who had received his sight.


‘But we don’t know how he now sees, and we don’t know who opened his eyes. Ask him; he’s of age. He will speak for himself.’


‘You were born entirely in sin,’  they replied, ‘and are you trying to teach us? ’ Then they threw him out.


Jesus heard that they had thrown the man out, and when he found him, he asked, ‘Do you believe in the Son of Man? ’   ,


So they called for them and ordered them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus.


No one else dared to join them, but the people spoke well of them.


After they called in the apostles and had them flogged, they ordered them not to speak in the name of Jesus and released them.


But the cowards, faithless,  detestable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars   #– #their share will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulphur,  which is the second death.’
