The messenger  who went to call Micaiah instructed him, ‘Look, the words of the prophets are unanimously favourable for the king. So let your words be like theirs, and speak favourably.’


They do everything   to be seen by others: They enlarge their phylacteries   and lengthen their tassels.   ,


and said to him, ‘If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down. For it is written: He will give his angels   orders concerning you, and they will support you with their hands so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’  ,


‘Whenever you fast, don’t be gloomy like the hypocrites. For they disfigure their faces   so that their fasting is obvious to people. Truly I tell you, they have their reward.


‘Whenever you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites, because they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by people. Truly I tell you, they have their reward.


A good person produces good out of the good stored up in his heart. An evil person produces evil out of the evil stored up in his heart, for his mouth speaks from the overflow of the heart.


‘I have spoken openly to the world,’ Jesus answered him. ‘I have always taught in the synagogue   and in the temple,   where all the Jews gather, and I haven’t spoken anything in secret.


So his brothers  said to him, ‘Leave here and go to Judea so that your disciples can see your works  that you are doing.


(For not even his brothers believed in him.)
