After these things God tested Abraham  and said to him, ‘Abraham! ’ ‘Here I am,’ he answered.


When the ambassadors of Babylon’s rulers  were sent  to him to enquire about the miraculous sign  that happened in the land, God left him to test him and discover what was in his heart.


Test  yourselves to see whether you are in the faith. Examine yourselves. Or do you yourselves not recognise that Jesus Christ is in you? #– #unless you fail the test.


do not listen to that prophet’s words or to that dreamer. For the Lord your God is testing you to know whether you love the Lord your God with all your heart and all your soul.


He said about Levi: Your Thummim and Urim  belong to your faithful one; you tested him at Massah and contended with him at the Waters of Meribah.


He fed you in the wilderness with manna,  which your ancestors had not known, in order to humble and test you, so that in the end he might cause you to prosper.


Remember that the Lord your God led you on the entire journey these forty years in the wilderness, so that he might humble you and test you to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands.
