However, the Lord said to my father David, ‘Since it was your desire to build a temple for my name, you have done well to have this desire.


Can the Cushite change his skin, or a leopard his spots? If so, you might be able to do what is good, you who are instructed in evil.


They do everything   to be seen by others: They enlarge their phylacteries   and lengthen their tassels.   ,


‘ “Well done, good   servant! ” he told him. “Because you have been faithful   in a very small matter, have authority over ten towns.”


For they loved human praise  more than praise from God.


This is eternal life: that they may know you, the only   true   God, and the one you have sent   #– #Jesus Christ.


For everyone who does evil hates   the light and avoids it,   so that his deeds   may not be exposed.


‘I do not accept glory   from people,


Why don’t you understand what I say? Because you cannot listen to   my word.


but glory, honour, and peace for everyone who does what is good, first to the Jew, and also to the Greek.


On the contrary, a person is a Jew who is one inwardly,  and circumcision is of the heart #– #by the Spirit, not the letter.  , That person’s praise is not from people but from God.


eternal life  to those who by persistence in doing good  seek glory, honour,  and immortality;


So don’t judge  anything prematurely, before the Lord comes,  who will both bring to light what is hidden in darkness and reveal the intentions of the hearts. And then praise will come to each one from God.


For it is not the one commending himself who is approved, but the one the Lord commends.


Do nothing out of selfish ambition  or conceit,  but in humility  consider others as more important  than yourselves.


and we didn’t seek glory  from people, either from you or from others.


Now to the King  eternal,  immortal,  invisible, the only  God,  be honour  and glory  for ever and ever. Amen.


Watch out, brothers and sisters, so that there won’t be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart that turns away  from the living God.


My brothers and sisters, do not show favouritism as you hold on to the faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ.
