Jacob replied, ‘My lord knows that the children are weak, and I have nursing flocks and herds. If they are driven hard for one day, the whole herd will die.


What more can David say to you? You know your servant,  Lord God.


‘Please, Lord, remember  how I have walked before you faithfully and wholeheartedly and have done what pleases you.’  , And Hezekiah wept bitterly.


He protects his flock like a shepherd; he gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them in the fold of his garment. He gently leads those that are nursing.


I will raise up shepherds over them who will tend them.  They will no longer be afraid or discouraged, nor will any be missing.’  This is the Lord’s declaration.


I will give you shepherds who are loyal to me,  , and they will shepherd you with knowledge and skill.


I will establish over them one shepherd, my servant David, and he will shepherd them. He will tend them himself and will be their shepherd.


He said to me, ‘These are the kitchens where those who minister at the temple will cook the people’s sacrifices.’


The one who loves a father or mother more than me is not worthy of me;   the one who loves a son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.


Jesus responded, ‘Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah,   , because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but my Father in heaven.


‘See to it that you don’t despise one of these little ones,   because I tell you that in heaven their angels   continually view the face of my Father in heaven.   ,


Peter told him, ‘Even if everyone falls away because of you, I will never fall away.’


‘Even if I have to die with you,’ Peter told him, ‘I will never deny you,’ and all the disciples said the same thing.


Peter  told him, ‘Even if everyone falls away, I will not.’


Don’t be afraid,   little flock,   because your Father delights   to give you the kingdom.


But I have prayed   for you   that your faith may not fail. And you, when you have turned back, strengthen   your brothers.’


and he brought Simon to Jesus. When Jesus saw him, he said, ‘You are Simon, son of John.   You will be called Cephas’   (which is translated ‘Peter’  ).


‘Lord,’ Peter asked, ‘why can’t I follow you now? I will lay down my life  for you.’


For the Father himself loves you, because you have loved   me and have believed that I came from God.   ,


‘Come and have breakfast,’ Jesus told them. None of the disciples dared ask him, ‘Who are you? ’ because they knew it was the Lord.


The disciple, the one Jesus loved, said to Peter, ‘It is the Lord! ’ When Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he tied his outer clothing round him (for he had taken it off) and plunged into the sea.


Jesus said to them, ‘If God were your Father, you would love me,   because I came from God   and I am here. For I didn’t come on my own, but he sent me.


Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock  of which the Holy Spirit has appointed you as overseers,  to shepherd the church of God,  which he purchased with his own blood.


I know that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock.


Welcome  anyone who is weak in faith,  but don’t argue about disputed matters.


Now we who are strong have an obligation to bear the weaknesses of those without strength,  and not to please ourselves.


So the weak person, the brother or sister for whom Christ died,  is ruined  , by your knowledge.


For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision accomplishes anything; what matters is faith  working through love.


Then we will no longer be little children, tossed by the waves and blown around by every wind of teaching,  by human cunning with cleverness in the techniques of deceit.


Grace be with all who have undying love for our Lord Jesus Christ.  ,


Now may the God of peace, who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus #– #the great Shepherd of the sheep   #– #through the blood of the everlasting covenant,


No creature is hidden from him, but all things are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom  we must give an account.


Though you have not seen  him, you love him;  though not seeing him now, you believe in him, and you rejoice  with inexpressible and glorious joy,


Like newborn infants, desire the pure milk of the word,  , so that by it you may grow up into your salvation,


For you were like sheep going astray,   , but you have now returned to the Shepherd  and Overseer  of your souls.


We love  because he first loved us.


Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God,  and everyone who loves the Father  also loves the one born of him.


I will strike her children dead.   , Then all the churches will know that I am the one who examines minds and hearts,   and I will give to each of you according to your works.
