Then I said, ‘Oh, Lord God, they are saying of me, “Isn’t he just composing parables? ” ’


Then  he said to them, ‘Don’t you understand this parable?   How then will you understand all of the parables?


He did not speak to them without a parable. Privately, however, he explained everything to his own disciples.


He spoke openly about this. Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him.


The Jews surrounded him and asked, ‘How long are you going to keep us in suspense?  If you are the Messiah,  tell us plainly.’  ,


Jesus gave them this figure of speech, but they did not understand  what he was telling them.


‘I still have many things to tell you, but you can’t bear them now.


They will ban you from the synagogues.   In fact, a time is coming when anyone who kills you will think he is offering service   to God.


Indeed, an hour is coming, and has come,   when each of you will be scattered to his own home, and you will leave me alone. Yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.


Instead, we have renounced secret and shameful things, not acting  deceitfully or distorting the word of God,  but commending ourselves before God to everyone’s conscience by an open display of the truth.
